Free Low-Carb Diet Recipes
The following recipes provide excellent meal substitutes for recovering carb addicts and other dieters who seek to modify their intake of carbohydrates. They are nutritious and delicious, full of protein and healthy fats.
Dinners Balsamic Vinegar Pork Chop with Garlic Ingredients: • 4 tablespoons olive oil • 4 or 5 pork chop ribs • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth • 6 tablespoons balsamic vinegar • 6 cloves garlic • 1/2 teaspoon on xanthan gum or guar Directions: Heat the oil in a pan at medium-high heat. Sear the chops in the oil until brown on both sides. Add the broth, vinegar, and garlic to the pan. Cover the pan and reduce heat to low. Let the chops sit for one hour. Remove chops. Take the liquid from the pan and blend with the guar or xanthan gum in a blender. This will thicken the sauce. Pour the mixture onto the chops. Mustard Glazed Salmon Ingredients: • 2 salmon fillets (5 oz each) • 2 tablespoons honey mustard dressing • 2 scallions, minced • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Directions: Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Skin the salmon and put it on a baking tray. Mix the dressing, onion, and herbs in a bowl. Spread it onto the fish. Cook for 12-15 minutes. The fish is done when it flakes easily. Sides Lemon Pepper Beans (great wish fish or pork chops) Ingredients: • 2 lbs green beans • 1/2 cup olive oil • 2 cloves garlic, crushed • 2 tablespoons lemon juice • 1/2 teaspoon pepper Directions: Heat the oil in a pan at a high heat. Add the beans and cook until they start to turn crisp. Add the lemon, garlic, and pepper. Cook for one more minute. Stir Fry Spinach Ingredients: • 1/2 cup peanut oil • 4 lbs spinach, rinsed and strained • 4 crushed cloves garlic Directions: Heat the oil at a high heat. Add the spinach and garlic. Stir fry the vegetables. They should be done in a few minutes. Dessert Strawberries in Wine This takes a little longer to prepare but it's the perfect treat for anyone on a diet. A delicacy for your sweet tooth. Ingredients: • 16 oz fresh strawberries • 1 cup burgundy wine • 2 tablespoons Splenda • 1 cinnamon stick Directions: Cut the strawberries into halves or quarters and place in a large bowl. Mix the wine and Splenda and pour over the strawberries. Add the cinnamon stick. Refridgerate the mixture for at least 12 hours. Forty-eight hours for maximum tastiness. |
