Detox Diet Recipes

Detox diet recipes are simple and nutritious. Anyone can make them, regardless of their cooking experience.

When buying ingredients for a detox diet recipe, be sure to strictly avoid chemicals, additives, and preservatives. In this spirit, shop for organic and local produce. Organic produce is grown without pesticides, hormones, genetic alteration or synthetic plant food. These days, organic produce is often imported from far away sources. Buying locally grown goods gives you the opportunity to actually visit the farms. You’ll be eating indigenous and seasonal foods.

Following a detox diet means keeping your recipes simple and pure. Light cooking is involved but it will keep the ingredients as close to raw as possible. Steamed vegetables are tender and pleasant on the palate while retaining much of their nutritional value.

Other ingredients to look out for are natural and artificial flavors, high fructose corn syrup, colors and dyes, trans fats, and anything hydrogenated. Some markets even add a coating to their produce so it appears shiny and fresher, but in reality it’s just another unnatural additive that compromises your detox.
