Face Masks

Face masks are one of the world's older beautification tools and are today being used by more men than ever before. These masks are a relaxing treatment that are terrific for keeping skin healthy and fighting aging.

When you lift off your face mask, you are not only lifting off excess oil and blackheads, you may also be lifting years off of your look. There are many highly effective face masks available and you should choose one based on your skin type. Your face masks should avoid your lips and eyes.

If you have healthy, balanced skin, squash half a pear and add a couple splashes of sunflower oil or other mild oil. This mask doesn't require a long time to work. You can wash it off 10-15 minutes later, leaving your skin feeling healthy, fresh and revitalized.

Those with dry skin can simply place the pulpy parts of a smashed tomato on their face for ten minutes and then rinse with water. For added benefit, consume whatever tomato juice you create in crushing the tomato. If you have more time on your hands a more involved mask can be created from coconut oil. Rub coconut oil into your face and cover up with a damp, hot compress. Repeat this a few times allowing the oil to sink in each time, and for a soap-free cleanup, try rose water.

People with oily skin have many masks to choose from. For simplicity's sake, try a honey mask. Spread honey on your face and allow your skin to absorb it. It washes right off with warm water. Getting your fingers wet may also help with the application.

Other, more complicated masks involving oatmeal and eggs are available to combat aging and to treat oily skin, but if you're new to masking, these will get you started. Avoid store-bought masks, as the chemicals they contain may undo any potential benefits.
